In 2018, New Jersey first responders used naloxone more than 16,000 times in reversing heroin and opioid users overdoes, NJ authorities say.
On June 18th 2019, 175 New Jersey Pharmacies will be offering free naloxone at participating pharmacies. They Will also get information about addiction and recovery options.
This was announced by New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy, “The scourge of opioids continues to devastate families and communities across our state, and we must do everything we can to end the opioid epidemic.”
This comes as a response to over 3,000 overdose deaths in NJ in 2018.
